The next generation of Xbox is once again at the center of debate on social media, following recent statements from a well-known technology sector insider. As speculation continues to circulate about the future of Sony’s hardware, it’s now Xbox Next that’s making headlines with details about its internal development and possible release window.
According to the shared information, the heart of the future console, codenamed Xbox Magnus, has already reached an advanced stage in its design. Although Microsoft has not officially confirmed anything, the leaks suggest that the project is further along than many imagined.
Xbox Next and the development of Xbox Magnus: possible release in late 2027
Youtuber and insider Moore’s Law is Dead claims that the design of the Xbox Magnus APU has been finalized in recent months. This would mean that the chip’s architecture (including integrated CPU and GPU) is already defined and ready to enter an intensive testing phase before mass production.
According to these sources, the graphics component would feature a chiplet-based AMD RDNA 5 architecture, allowing for improved efficiency and scaled performance compared to the current generation. This move would align with AMD’s planned technological roadmap for the coming years.
In terms of the release date, the insider places the launch of Xbox Next in late 2027, with the final hardware potentially ready in the third quarter of that year if testing proceeds without issues. All of this, of course, is based on unofficial information.
For now, Microsoft has not made any public announcements about its next console. As with this type of leak, it’s best to take it with caution until the company decides to make a move. Meanwhile, the rumor mill about the new generation is already in full swing.
