Microsoft is taking another step to expand gaming on PC. From today, the Xbox app can be downloaded and used on PCs with Windows 11 based on Arm, bringing the usual Xbox experience to these devices to download, play and manage the library without changes in the flow of use.
The arrival coincides with the advances of 2025 in Windows 11 for games on Arm and with key system improvements that facilitate compatibility. The goal: to give players more hardware options without giving up their catalog or associated benefits.
Xbox app on Windows 11 Arm: catalog, compatibility, and Cloud
With the app available, players can access a wide selection of the PC catalog, with over 85% of Game Pass compatible on Arm devices. For titles that still don’t run locally, Xbox Cloud Gaming remains the immediate alternative while support is expanded.
Technical improvements also accompany this. Prism, the emulator that runs x86/x64 software on Arm, now supports AVX and AVX2, which expands compatibility with modern games. Additionally, Epic Anti-Cheat support allows running popular titles like Gears of War: Reloaded and Fortnite. This is added to Windows Performance Fit, which guides on which games will perform best according to the device’s hardware.
Microsoft confirms that it will continue to collaborate with manufacturers, silicon partners, and studios to improve performance and compatibility on Arm. The Xbox app on Windows 11 Arm is now available for download and allows taking the library and benefits of Xbox Game Pass to a new category of PCs.
