Today is a bitter day for a part of the Xbox community. After years in a delicate situation and without real support, BioWare’s ambitious project has officially come to an end, shutting down servers and ceasing to be playable on a permanent basis.

The title was released on February 22, 2019 with great promises, but its journey was marked by structural problems, lack of sustained content, and support that never managed to consolidate despite several attempts at relaunching.

The server shutdown means that the game can no longer be played on any platform, including Xbox, as it is a completely online-dependent experience. Even those who own it in digital or physical format will be left without functional access.

Over these five years, the title went from being one of Electronic Arts’ major bets to becoming a prime example of a failed project within the cooperative action genre. Neither the cancellation of its internal reboot nor subsequent patches managed to change its fate, and today’s closure is a confirmation of what many saw as inevitable.

With this goodbye, Xbox loses one of those games that aimed high but never managed to take off. A reminder of just how difficult it is to sustain proposals of this type without a clear vision and continued long-term support.
