The shutdown of Anthem servers is just around the corner, but there’s a detail that’s fueling the community’s frustration: the game’s microtransaction store remains active and fully priced, as if nothing was about to happen.

The BioWare title, published by Electronic Arts, will say goodbye to its online features in just a few days. However, players who log in now find that armors, decals, and other cosmetics still cost the same, despite the fact that the content will become meaningless once the servers shut down.

“It’s the least they could have done”

Many players agree on the same idea: opening the store and allowing players to unlock everything for free would have been a logical and respectful gesture towards those who stuck with Anthem until the end. Some users claim that it would have even given them a reason to return to the game and say goodbye.

Frustration grows when remembering that, at launch, BioWare already had systems in place to adjust prices and rotations, so it doesn’t seem like a complex task. For many, the feeling is that no effort was put into a final update.

Prices remain intact until the last day

Other players go further and point to a possible last-minute economic interest: keeping prices may encourage purchases due to fear of “missing out” before the shutdown, either to complete collections or even create content on social media.
