This new approach also includes Black Ops 7, which they describe as a spiritual successor to Black Ops 2 with a larger content plan than ever. But now, they emphasize that their intention is for each future release (regardless of the sub-series) to have the time and space needed to build without rush or direct comparisons to the previous year’s release.

The company assures that this decision marks the beginning of a new era for Call of Duty. With a more flexible calendar and teams focused on creating distinct games, the goal is to regain the trust of players and surprise them year after year.
