The universe of one of Netflix’s most popular series makes the leap to the most advanced flight simulator on Xbox and PC. The collaboration comes directly through the internal Marketplace and turns Hawkins into a playable scenario, with an experience that combines aerial exploration and nods to the latest stretch of the TV story.
The integration doesn’t just stop at adding locations: it also incorporates a special mission presented in the style of a local news report, with a style very faithful to the spirit of the series. The result is a curious, different, and thoughtful expansion for those who want to explore the city from the air while waiting for the latest season.
The Stranger Things expansion is now available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
The update allows you to explore Hawkins from the sky on board a Bell UH-1H “Huey”, an iconic helicopter that is presented here as part of the fictional company “Hawkins Heli-Tours”. The simulator reproduces well-known places like Palace Arcade, Family Video, Lovers Lake, and several residential areas, all with the usual level of detail from the saga. Players just need to have the simulator updated, enter the Marketplace, and download the expansion.
Behind the proposal is Murray Bauman, whose presence serves as a connection to the aesthetics and tone of the series. The character leads the tourism company while the city remains under quarantine, which gives rise to rumors, nighttime flights, and comments about possible unclear activities. The expansion takes advantage of this interplay between the everyday and the strange to build a small parallel story that fits into the world of Stranger Things.
