In recent days, information has begun to circulate that has sparked significant interest among Xbox players: several titles have received a label update within the Store that refers to simultaneous compatibility with Xbox App on PC, Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass, and portable devices. A detail that could foreshadow a significant expansion of Xbox Play Anywhere, the feature that allows playing the same title with a single purchase on console, PC, and now also Windows handhelds.
The changes have been detected in games that were not previously associated with Xbox Play Anywhere, which has generated debate within the community. The most discussed case is Oddsparks, which is now labeled as a title with full cross-platform support. There have also been mentions of Severed Steel and LEGO Bricktales, which have received the so-called “new portable label” within the store, something that usually anticipates movements related to the full integration of the Xbox ecosystem.
More publishers could join Xbox Play Anywhere
The possible jump of Xbox Play Anywhere to new games is generating attention, especially from two companies: CI Games and Focus Entertainment. Neither had regularly used this feature, although there are recent exceptions such as A Plague Tale: Legacy or MIO: Memories in Orbit, scheduled for 2026 and already confirmed under the multi-platform structure of the program.
The situation has gained even more interest after the official announcement of Aaero2: Black Razor Edition, as the style of the announcement and its release on December 16 has sparked speculation about whether it will also adopt Xbox Play Anywhere from its launch. It’s not confirmed, but the synchronization with the new series of labels has not gone unnoticed by the community.
Everything points to Xbox adjusting its catalog to better reflect its current strategy: a unified ecosystem where console, PC, and portable devices share games, progression, and digital purchases. And, although an official communication is needed to clarify the scope of the change, the presence of these new labels suggests that Xbox Play Anywhere could be on the verge of a significant expansion.
