Konami has surprised everyone at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 with a highly anticipated announcement: the confirmation that Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 2 is already in production. Although the chapters that will be part of this package have not been revealed yet, all eyes are on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, the title most requested by fans.
The importance of this possible return lies in the fact that MGS4 was exclusive to PlayStation 3 since its release in 2008 and never made it to other platforms. To this day, in 2025, it remains inaccessible outside of that console, making it a rarity within the saga.
Metal Gear Solid 4 could return in Collection Vol. 2
During the presentation, Konami also mentioned that Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 1 will soon receive an update, which reinforces the idea that the company is betting on revitalizing the entire franchise. If the inclusion of Guns of the Patriots in the second volume is confirmed, it would mean the first time that players on Xbox, PC, and current consoles could enjoy this installment that marked the end of Solid Snake’s story.
For now, there is no official release date or confirmed list of games, but the simple announcement of the collection has been enough to rekindle excitement. The possibility of seeing Metal Gear Solid 4 on new platforms would be one of the most significant milestones in the saga’s return.
