Good news for Final Fantasy fans on Xbox consoles. Naoki Hamaguchi, director of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, has confirmed in an interview that the title will receive a playable demo on Xbox Series by the end of this year, coinciding with the release of a trial version on Nintendo Switch 2.
Square Enix’s goal is for players to experience the game’s performance firsthand on the new generation, both on Xbox and Nintendo’s hybrid console. Additionally, Hamaguchi highlighted that the experience gained during the development of Remake and Rebirth has served to optimize the Intergrade version to the maximum on these platforms.

Square Enix aims to show not only the game’s visual spectacularity but also the technical solidity achieved after investing a significant portion of its resources in optimization.
For now, there is no exact date for the demo’s release, beyond the late 2025 window, but it is confirmed that Xbox Series and Switch 2 users will be the first to enjoy it.
