After years of waiting, a red-letter day has finally been marked for fans of Hollow Knight. The sequel from Team Cherry, Hollow Knight: Silksong, will launch on September 4, 2025 on consoles and PC, with an immediate debut on Xbox Game Pass. This news guarantees its arrival to millions of players worldwide, all at the same time.
However, while the digital version is secured on all platforms, many collectors are wondering about the physical edition. And the answer won’t be entirely satisfying for those playing on Xbox or PlayStation.
The physical edition of Hollow Knight Silksong will arrive in 2026, starting with Nintendo
According to information published by Insider-Gaming, the first physical copies of Silksong won’t be ready until early 2026, and they will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. This leaves out, at least initially, Microsoft and Sony consoles, where the game will only be available in digital format for the time being.
- The good news is that from day one, September 4, 2025, players on Xbox Series, PlayStation, and PC will have full access to Hornet’s adventure, with the added bonus of being available on Game Pass at no extra cost. The Australian studio promises to provide more details about the physical release for other platforms in early 2026.
In this way, Silksong will arrive with force in the Xbox ecosystem through Xbox Game Pass, while collectors will have to wait a few more months to get their hands on a physical copy.
