Xbox and ASUS have confirmed at Gamescom 2025 that their new laptops, ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, will be available starting October 16, 2025 in a wide range of countries, including Spain and Mexico. During the presentation, Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, Roanne Sones, and other Xbox executives provided more details about this launch, which aims to bring the Xbox and PC experience anywhere with power and continuity.
Both models will be available from day one in markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Mexico, and Japan, among many others. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Brazil, India, and other territories will receive the portable console in a second wave, while in China, the standard model will be launched in early 2026.
Everything that ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X offer
The laptops will come with Windows 11 optimized for gaming, a complete Xbox interface, and support for unified libraries that include titles from Xbox Game Pass, Battle.net, and other PC platforms. They will also allow playing natively, via the cloud, or through Remote Play from your Xbox console.
Among their features, the following stand out:
-
Xbox Ally: equipped with the AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, designed to balance consumption and performance, maximizing battery life without sacrificing graphics quality.
-
Xbox Ally X: advanced model with AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, 1 TB of storage, 24 GB of RAM, and an 80 Wh battery, in addition to haptic triggers. It will be the first laptop to take advantage of AI functions with improvements such as Auto Super Resolution (automatically rescales games for better performance and resolution) or automatic clips of highlighted plays.
Another important announcement has been the Handheld Compatibility Program, a new seal that will verify which games are ready to play on portable devices. Titles will appear as “Handheld Optimized” (ready to work without adjustments) or “Mostly Compatible” (only small changes needed), in addition to a performance indicator that will give the player guarantees before installing.
Xbox has also confirmed new features that will arrive in updates: pre-loading of shaders to reduce startup times, improvements in the experience of connecting to large screens, and a catalog of compatible accessories, including the new ROG Raikiri II Xbox Wireless Controller, expected for this Christmas.
With these novelties, Xbox and ASUS reinforce their commitment to a unified ecosystem that offers the player total freedom to enjoy their games wherever they want, keeping progress and achievements synchronized thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere and integration with the cloud.
