This year’s Gamescom continues to deliver top-notch announcements. Today, Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and other Xbox executives appeared to share more details about the new partnership with ASUS, focused on the ROG Ally laptop with full Xbox integration. The message was clear: gamers should be able to enjoy their titles “on their own terms“, whether on PC, console, or on-the-go.

The device is presented as the natural evolution of a strategy that Xbox has been reinforcing in recent years: breaking down barriers between platforms and offering continuity in the experience. According to its executives, the new ROG Ally will allow gamers to start a game on their desktop PC and continue it on the laptop with total fluidity, taking advantage of cross-progression and direct access to Xbox Game Pass.
A portable experience optimized for Xbox and PC
During the presentation, Xbox confirmed that the new version of ROG Ally will offer up to 100 FPS performance, with optimization in graphics, animations, and battery life, adjusting to different devices. The idea is to ensure that both in quick sessions on-the-go and in long gaming sessions connected to the power grid, performance remains solid.
Everything, everywhere
Phil Spencer highlighted that the goal is to “bring the worlds and characters we love to any device that gamers choose“, while Sarah Bond insisted that this move aims to reinforce the vision of a unified ecosystem that allows gamers to enjoy games regardless of hardware.
With this collaboration, Xbox and ASUS aim to redefine the concept of portable gaming, bringing PC and console even closer together through a single device. Gamescom 2025 is serving to confirm that the future of Xbox is about being everywhere, with experiences that accompany the gamer wherever they decide to play.
