The collaboration between Sony and Xbox has taken a significant step forward with the announcement that Helldivers 2 will be released on Xbox on August 26. This marks a milestone in the relationship between the two companies, as Helldivers 2 will be the first game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on Xbox consoles. Arrowhead’s CEO, Shams Jorjani, has expressed his gratitude to PlayStation for making this release possible and has asked fans to do the same.
In a conversation on Discord, Jorjani admitted that “it was all thanks to PlayStation” regarding Helldivers 2’s arrival on Xbox, and highlighted that Arrowhead “receives a lot of help from PlayStation” in bug fixing and game optimization. This tells us that the relationship between Arrowhead and PlayStation is close, and that the Japanese company has played a crucial role in expanding Helldivers 2 to other platforms.
Sony and Microsoft to Collaborate on More Projects
The arrival of Helldivers 2 on Xbox is just the beginning of the collaboration between Sony and Xbox. Gears of War Reloaded will be released on PS5 on the same day that Helldivers 2 joins Xbox, and there are rumors that more Xbox-exclusive games will soon arrive on PS5, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator.
