This week is shaping up to be incredibly intense for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. On one hand, we have huge titles about to land on the service, and on the other, the highly anticipated return of a genuine skate legend. As you can imagine, we’ve already got our hands on the first reviews.
We’re talking about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, a release that combines the iconic titles 3 and 4 of the saga, following the formula we saw a few years ago with the first two games. It was an expected move, given the excellent reception the first return had.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 receives critical acclaim
In terms of ratings, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 has been met with enthusiasm from critics. The media highlights the fidelity with which the original games have been recreated, as well as the remake’s graphical and sound quality.
However, being honest, the best way to know if a game is worth it is to try it out for yourself. Reviews serve as a reference, but the final word always belongs to you, the player.
Shacknews – 90/100
To me, THPS 3 is a perfect game. Although some design decisions when integrating THPS 4 into this remake didn’t spark the same nostalgia in me, I highly value the end result. Welcome back to the Club 9, Tony!
Multiplayer.it – 80/100
In recent years, marked by the abandonment of many classics and the proliferation of titles with early-century aesthetics, we’ve rarely felt that authentic return to childhood like when playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.
IGN – 80/100
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a very successful re-release of the original 2001 and 2002 games. It’s also a time capsule that reminds us of the best of the golden age of video games, before the arrival of microtransactions and battle passes.
Gamespot – 80/100
It’s a phenomenal skate game that fans would flock to without hesitation. However, some decisions in Career mode and certain levels of THPS 4 don’t quite fit with the rest. Some changes seem unnecessary.
With a current average of 83/100, it’s clear that the game meets expectations. Guaranteed fun, and the best part, available from July 11th as a day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass.
