Helldivers 2 will arrive on Xbox in August, it’s official

It has just been officially announced that Helldivers 2 will arrive on Xbox in August.

Arrowhead Game Studios has officially confirmed: Helldivers 2, the successful cooperative shooter released this year on other platforms, will arrive on Xbox Series on August 26, 2025. Players can already pre-order both the standard edition and the Super Citizen Edition. With full cross-play, the battle for galactic democracy will now add Xbox users to the fight.

The news was shared by the developer itself, along with Mikael Eriksson, the game’s director, who assured that “they knew Xbox players had been asking for it for a long time, and they’re thrilled that more Helldivers will join the battlefield”.

Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter that pits squads of up to four soldiers against hordes of alien enemies. The goal: to spread peace and the so-called “Managed Democracy” throughout the galaxy… using the most massive arsenal imaginable.

• Players will have access to a wide range of customizable weapons, as well as the lethal “stratagems” that allow for devastating attacks or specialized equipment to be summoned in the midst of a mission. The game also includes a large-scale multiplayer metagame called Galactic War, where players collaborate to liberate planets and expand Super Earth’s control.
• Arrowhead has confirmed that both the standard edition and the Super Citizen Edition will be available on Xbox, both with cross-play enabled from day one. The special edition will include extra cosmetic content and exclusive bonuses.

The title has been developed by Arrowhead Game Studios along with Nixxes Software, and will require a permanent internet connection and an active subscription to play on console.
