Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 confirms second year of free content and new PvP mode

Space Marine 2 continues to expand its universe with force. Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have confirmed that the game will receive a second full year of content, combining free updates and paid DLC. The community, as highlighted by the developers, has been key to making this new plan of continued support a reality.

Although the details of this second season pass have not been fully revealed, it is already in development and promises new PvE missions, unseen enemies, additional weapons, and more themed content. This is a significant boost for one of the most powerful shooters in the Warhammer 40K universe, which continues to grow after its release.

The new PvP mode arrives in September for Space Marine 2 on Xbox

Before the second year of content officially begins, Space Marine 2 will receive a major update in September 2025, with patch 10.0. This will include a new multiplayer PvP mode with two Chaos factions facing off in a new map. Additionally, players will be able to pilot a Helbrute, adding a spectacular dimension to combat.

The update will also add new cosmetic elements inspired by Chaos, including armor sets and a melee weapon: the Energy Axe, perfect for close combat with authentic imperial style. This will be complemented by a new playable class: the Techmarine, with more details to be revealed soon.

Prior to the 10.0 update, patch 9.0 will arrive, focused solely on balance adjustments and general fixes. The developers have also mentioned that they have taken note of the feedback received during the Siege Mode testing period, improving its design and mechanics for future revisions.

Space Marine 2 is available on Xbox Series, PC, and PS5, and continues to establish itself as one of the most solid titles in the Warhammer 40K universe. Additionally, it has been confirmed that a third installment in the series is already in the works, although there are no details yet on its release or the role that Captain Titus will play again.
