Xbox has confirmed that Social Clubs will disappear permanently in April 2026 on Xbox One and Xbox Series. The decision is part of a platform update focused on prioritizing social features that players use the most.
In fact, it’s no longer possible to create new clubs, a step prior to the complete shutdown of the system. Social Clubs were user-created spaces within the “Friends and Community Updates” app, where users could share captures, organize debates, post content, or gather communities around specific games. Although the feature is still active for now, its use has been quite limited in recent years.
Social Clubs will no longer be available on Xbox in April 2026
As of April 2026, the “Xbox Clubs“ tab will disappear completely from the console app. Microsoft recommends using alternatives like Xbox messages, Discord on Xbox, group chat, or the “Find a Group” feature to stay in touch and coordinate gameplay.
However, there’s an important exception: Official Clubs linked to specific games will still be available. These spaces, managed by developers and publishers, can still be accessed from the game card by going to the corresponding option within the menu.
With this change, Xbox continues to refine its social ecosystem and bet on more integrated and widely used tools by most players.
