Xbox has surprised its community by announcing that it will re-release two of its most sought-after controllers, both launched this year and sold out in record time. Although there is no specific date yet, the company has confirmed that they will be available before the end of 2025 for Xbox Series and PC users.
In this generation, Microsoft has significantly enhanced the variety and customization of its controllers, with a catalog of limited editions that often disappear from the market in a matter of days. Now, two of these most exclusive models will return, giving a new opportunity to those who missed out on them during their original launch.
The Witcher 3 and DOOM: The Dark Ages controllers are back
- The first to return is the special edition controller inspired by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, created in collaboration with CD Projekt RED to celebrate the game’s tenth anniversary. Its design features unique details based on the universe of Geralt of Rivia, and during its original launch, it was offered in two versions: standard controller (79.99 €) and Elite Series 2 Core (169.99 €). Both sold out just days after their release.
- The second is the special controller for DOOM: The Dark Ages, with a finish that pays homage to the latest installment in the Bethesda saga. Like The Witcher 3 controller, it was available in standard and Elite Series 2 Core versions, and it also quickly disappeared from stores after its debut.
For now, Xbox has not confirmed whether both models will return in their two versions or if they will only be available in standard format. It has also not been specified whether this re-release will be a limited run or if they will become a permanent part of the catalog. Given the brand’s history, everything suggests that they will return as limited editions, which could lead to them selling out again in no time.
We’ll have to stay tuned in the coming weeks, as if the usual pattern is followed, pre-ordering will be key to getting them.
