Microsoft continues to work on turning the Xbox app for PC into a true control center for gamers. This week, users of the Xbox Insider program in the PC Gaming Preview channel will be the first to try My Apps, a new tab designed to facilitate access to both games and third-party applications without leaving the library.
The idea is simple: to bring together installed titles and browsers, game tools, or even digital stores in one place, so that everything is integrated into the official app. With this, players will be able to manage, download, and launch games or utilities from a single location, without needing to access the Windows desktop or open external applications.
How “My Apps” works in the Xbox PC app
The new section will appear as a tab within the Xbox library. There, users will find an initial selection of compatible applications to view, download, and run directly, with the promise that the list will be progressively expanded. In this way, the Xbox app will not only be the place to find Game Pass titles, but also where to centralize the PC gaming experience.
The feature makes special sense on devices like ROG Ally or any laptop with Windows 11, as it will allow easy switching between games and utilities in full-screen mode, with optimized resource consumption to prioritize performance during gameplay. Additionally, it integrates with other recent improvements, such as the aggregated library and game history, reinforcing the idea that the Xbox PC App wants to be the center of all digital entertainment on the computer.
The new feature aims to consolidate the Xbox app on Windows 11 as the primary tool for discovering, managing, and enjoying games and applications from any platform or store. For now, it’s being tested within the Insider ring, but it’s expected to arrive for the rest of the users in the coming months.
