A shared experience on Reddit has once again put the spotlight on the functioning of Xbox support. A user recounted how, after trying to resolve an issue with their account, they ended up receiving a completely out-of-place response.
According to their post, they first received two AI-generated responses that did not resolve their issue. In response, they explicitly requested to be assisted by a human agent from the European Union, which they claim is a recognized right. The problem arose when, supposedly already in contact with a real agent, they received this literal response: “I will help you with a streptococcal infection”.
Mockery, Anger, and Criticism of Xbox Support
The message, unrelated to Xbox, Game Pass, or digital services, sparked a wave of reactions on Reddit. Many users joked about the situation, while others showed direct indignation, labeling the treatment as a lack of respect and further proof of the deterioration of support.
Beyond the humorous tone of some comments, the general sentiment is clear: frustration with customer service, especially when it comes to account issues, offers, or subscriptions. Several users point out that even when insisting on speaking with a person, the responses continue to be erratic or useless.
Automation Comes Under Fire Again
This case reopens the debate about the intensive use of AI and automated systems in customer service. The fact that a conversation ended up referencing a medical issue reinforces the perception that filters are not working correctly, or that human oversight is minimal.
For now, Xbox has not made any public comment about this specific incident. Meanwhile, the affected user claims that the experience has been so negative that they will avoid contacting support again, a decision that many in the community say they understand perfectly.
