In collaboration with Meta, Xbox has officially announced the launch of the new Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition, a limited edition that marks a new step in the integration between the Xbox ecosystem and virtual reality. This commemorative viewer not only becomes the first of its kind with Xbox branding, but it also comes with exclusive content and accessories.
This version arrives after the consolidation of the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) service on Meta Quest devices, offering direct access to dozens of games from the cloud, now with an experience fully adapted to Xbox fans. Its design, the included controllers, and the subscriptions it integrates reinforce Microsoft’s bet to expand its ecosystem beyond traditional consoles.
Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition: Content, Design, and Availability
The new Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition pack is now available in select stores for $399.99 (available at meta.com, Best Buy (US), Argos (UK), and EE (UK)), although units are limited and will not be replenished once the stock is depleted.
These are the confirmed contents of the bundle:
-
128 GB Meta Quest 3S viewer with exclusive Xbox design (Carbon Black and Velocity Green)
-
Matching Touch Plus controllers
-
Wireless Xbox controller limited edition (pre-configured with the viewer)
-
Elite Strap for improved grip
-
3 months of Meta Horizon+ subscription
-
3 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
The design of the viewer and accessories stands out for its combination of matte black and green details, iconic colors of the Xbox brand. The included wireless controller features the same finishes, with front buttons and highlighted sticks, and can be used on both the Quest and Xbox consoles and PC.
Play from the Cloud with Xbox on Quest
Thanks to the integrated Xbox app on Quest devices, players can directly access their cloud library and play with the same progress they have on console or PC. Titles like South of Midnight, Avowed, or The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered are available from the start, in addition to over 100 compatible games that can be consulted in the “Stream Your Own Game” collection.
Users with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be able to take advantage of:
-
Shared progress between devices (cross-save)
-
Cross-play matches
-
Access to compatible titles in the cloud, even if they are not in Game Pass
-
Full integration with Xbox account achievements and saves
With this special edition, the Xbox experience is consolidated as a true multi-platform, where you can start a game on the viewer, continue it on console, and finish it on PC, all without losing any progress.
Virtual Reality with a Console Soul
Although the Meta Quest 3S viewer is focused on mixed reality experiences, this edition demonstrates that it can also be a complete platform for Xbox users, without the need for additional hardware. By simply pairing the included controller and connecting to the cloud service, it’s possible to enjoy games as if they were running on a large-format TV, but in virtual reality.
The launch of this limited edition marks the beginning of a new era in the relationship between Meta and Microsoft. Both companies have confirmed their intention to continue collaborating, and it’s not ruled out that new versions or other devices with direct integration with the Xbox ecosystem will arrive in the future.
