When it seemed like Marathon was still shrouded in silence, a slip-up in Xbox’s own infrastructure has once again put the spotlight on Bungie’s highly anticipated project. According to recent discoveries, a trailer was prematurely shown on the Xbox panel, revealing what would be its official release date.
The video has since been removed, but not before several users confirmed its contents. Everything points to the title arriving on March 5, 2026 for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC, finally putting an end to a long period of uncertainty following its initial delay.
The leaked trailer points to March 5, 2026
According to information extracted from the trailer itself, Marathon was originally set to launch in September, but Bungie opted to move the calendar without specifying a new date. This leaked material would have finally cleared up the mystery, clearly showing the date of March 5, 2026 as the global release.
The video remained visible for a brief period on the Xbox interface before being deleted, although long enough for the information to spread quickly. For now, neither Bungie nor Sony has officially confirmed the date, so it’s best to treat it as a leak pending validation.
Additionally, the trailer mentions a Deluxe Edition that would include the so-called Midnight Decay Bundle, featuring weapon skins and additional content, while the standard edition would have a price of 39.99 euros. The cost of the Deluxe Edition has not been detailed yet.
With this unexpected move, everything suggests that the official announcement could happen very soon, either through a direct post on the PlayStation blog or a joint statement. If the leak is correct, Marathon would already have a marked date on the calendar… and it won’t be long before we can confirm it.
