Xbox Game Pass will announce new games this week: we already have the estimated date

We won't have to wait too long to find out when the new games that arrive on Xbox Game Pass in the first half of the month are going to be announced.

As has been the custom in recent months, Microsoft tends to divide the Xbox Game Pass announcements into two batches each month: one in the first half and another towards the end. And if there are no last-minute changes, the new games for the first half of August should be revealed between this Monday, August 4, or Tuesday, August 5, according to estimates based on previous movements.

This pattern has been maintained throughout most of 2025, with announcements that usually arrive on Tuesdays, but occasionally are brought forward to Monday when it coincides with the start of the month. Therefore, everything points to the new wave of titles being officially presented in the coming hours, giving way to new additions for console, PC, and cloud.

Why is the announcement expected on August 4 or 5?

The calculation is based on Microsoft’s behavior in previous months:

• In July, the games for the first half were announced on Tuesday, July 2.

• In June, it was on Monday, June 3.

• In May, on Tuesday, May 7.

• In April, also on Tuesday, April 2.

Taking into account this history, and knowing that Monday, August 4, marks the start of a new week, it is most logical that Microsoft takes advantage of that day or Tuesday, August 5, to reveal the first official list of the month. Additionally, it coincides with the start of the new billing period for many users, which reinforces the commercial strategy of the service.
