The Vampire Survivors phenomenon continues to grow unstoppable. Its creator studio, Poncle, has confirmed that the game will add online cooperative mode this fall as part of the 1.14 update, one of the largest it has received to date. This version will include five major new features, including the ability to enjoy the chaos with other players through Xbox Game Pass.

For now, there is no exact release date, although the team has humorously noted that “yes, it’s autumn now“, making it clear that the update is very close. With this step, Vampire Survivors expands its multiplayer formula, which until now was limited to local co-op.

Update 1.14: more chaos and fun in Vampire Survivors

The new online mode will allow exploring scenarios freely with friends, facing hordes of enemies together in places like the Astral Staircase or Room 1665. The team ensures that the challenge will increase with each additional player, maintaining the intensity and challenge characteristic of the title.

Poncle has clarified that there will be no public lobbies to avoid the chaos that massive games would entail, so the system will focus on private sessions between friends. Additionally, the studio confirmed that there will be no cross-play at launch, although it is being studied for inclusion in future updates.

The online co-op will be just one part of what the 1.14 version will bring, which will also include new characters, scenarios, and objects. Vampire Survivors continues to be one of the biggest successes in the Xbox Game Pass catalog, with millions of players enjoying its automatic action, constant progress, and unmistakable retro style. For now, the studio promises to reveal more details “very soon“. Everything points to this fall being a new golden age for one of the most addictive indies in recent Xbox history.
