Following the recent changes in Xbox Game Pass and the price hike applied by Microsoft, many players have wondered what happens if they redeem a three-month prepaid code for the Ultimate version of the service. With the transition to the new plans (Essential, Premium, and Ultimate) and the rate adjustments, many users feared that the old codes would lose their validity or be transformed into another type of subscription.

However, as has been confirmed, current codes continue to work exactly as before. If you have a Game Pass Ultimate code for three months or any other code (for example, purchased on Amazon or from other distributors), when you redeem it, you will still get three full months of Ultimate subscription, without changes or conversions to other levels.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate codes maintain their validity
For now, Microsoft has not modified the functioning of physical or digital coupons for Game Pass Ultimate, so those who redeem them will see their subscription extended for the time indicated on the card, normally 90 days. The process remains the same: simply enter the code on the console, in the Xbox app, or on the web, and it will be redeemed without issues. I did it myself a few days ago, and everything went smoothly, it was redeemed without problems and added to my account.
This means that it is still possible to extend the subscription with prior discounts, as long as retailers do not update their prices to the new official cost (many are already doing so). Many players are taking advantage of this window to accumulate months of service before the adjustment also reaches prepaid cards, which, as we say, is already happening.
