Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: players want DLCs to be included too

Game Pass Ultimate has added services, perks and integration with more platforms, but it has also increased in price since October 1st. Part of the community understands the change, but another part is starting to wonder how far the value proposition of the most complete plan should go. And one of the topics that is generating the most comments on social media is clear: should it also include the additional content of first-party games?

The issue has been reactivated after some titles released by Xbox Game Studios received expansions that are not included in the subscription, something that several users consider difficult to justify if we talk about the premium plan. Recent examples, such as the additional content of Indiana Jones, have put a question on the table that many have been asking themselves for a long time.

Among the players who are asking for changes, the most repeated argument is that a plan focused on offering the “complete” experience should also integrate the expansions of all games published by Microsoft. Especially now that Game Pass Ultimate costs more than in previous years.

• Other users point out that DLCs continue to be a key source of income for studios and distributors, even within Game Pass. For many developers, the model works precisely because the base game reaches a wider audience, and expansions become a way to maintain investment or finance new projects.

However, the idea that “a Game Pass Premium should include the complete content” is being mentioned more and more, and not just in first-party games. Some propose that Xbox also negotiate packages with external publishers to integrate expansions into certain titles, something similar to what happens with EA Play with certain content.
