This year has been very prosperous in the field of games we’ve received; there’s something for every type of Xbox fan, and the most surprising thing is that many of these titles also saw their release as day-one launches on the Xbox service.
However, this editor was in charge of a good list of games that I could share my opinion on and provide an analysis, being as straightforward as possible. Although many fans may judge us for the way we do it, it’s essential to remember that we don’t have absolute truth, and the idea is to give you the best of our experience.
4 Xbox Game Pass launch games in 2025 that I’ve analyzed and you should try
I haven’t analyzed many games for Xbox Game Pass during 2025; this is because our editorial team takes care of each release in a very special way, and with so many games, it’s sometimes impossible to cover them all. However, in my personal order, I’ll leave you with each one of them:
1 – Revenge of the Savage Planet – 85/100 link
Exploring space is something we’re familiar with: traveling between worlds, visiting places, and discovering conspiracies is nothing new. But having a funny story, a colorful atmosphere, charming creatures, entertaining threats, a vibrant world, and the possibility of collecting many things for your home make this game an experience that you start and can’t put down easily. It’s one of the most entertaining games I’ve played and analyzed in 2025, and it has a place in my memories.
2 – The Rogue Prince of Persia – 85/100 link
At the time, this game arrived as an early access title on PC, which was in 2024, and although the content was scarce, the quality was top-notch. With a gameplay system similar to Dead Cells (its developers were in charge of its DLC), we had the return of a beloved character. Additionally, the changes that came to its version 1.0 were enough to make it one of my favorite games. I was able to enjoy it: the parkour, the fights, the weapons, and the challenges.
3 – Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 – 87/100 link
Our beloved Tony Hawk’s was back with a remake that didn’t discard the classic, but rather turned it into something we can all enjoy. It’s true that they made some changes that not all fans liked, but the sum of the successes was enough to get us back on the board and try out what we learned back in the day. It’s a game for all types of audiences; the fun is guaranteed from start to finish.
4 – Commandos: Origins – 80/100 link
This saga is very dear and precious to me; having played the first game in the franchise blew my mind. I expected something similar in this prequel, and it can be said that it was, although its launch was disastrous. Technically, I suffered from each error and its shortcomings firsthand, something that affected the game’s image. After a few weeks, some of these issues were corrected, but the damage to the game’s reputation was already done. It’s not a bad game; it retains the essence of the original, it’s just that its launch wasn’t the best.
I hope this list and my personal experience help you get to know these games that deserve a chance and are worth every minute you invest in them, because in the end, the good moments outweigh the flaws each one may have. So, happy holidays and enjoy a new game.
