Xbox Game Pass could face one of its most significant changes in the coming years. According to new information, Call of Duty 2026 may not arrive on the service from day one, something that would break with Xbox’s recent strategy.

The information comes from Jez Corden, known for his Xbox-related leaks, who has dropped this possibility in one of his latest analyses. Although it’s not official, the idea is already generating debate.
Call of Duty 2026 may not be Day One on Xbox Game Pass
According to Corden, within Microsoft, they are considering not including the next Call of Duty in Game Pass from its launch, with the goal of boosting direct game sales. The idea makes sense from a commercial standpoint. Call of Duty remains one of the strongest franchises on the market, and its initial exclusion from the service would allow for maximum revenue before incorporating it later.
This possible move is also related to a restructuring of the service, which could bring changes in prices and subscription levels in the future. However, it’s essential to note that this is just a rumor. Corden himself points out that conversations within Xbox are ongoing, and no final decision has been made.
In the meantime, the saga continues to have a presence in Game Pass with previous installments, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is part of the current catalog.
If this change is finally confirmed, it would be a significant shift in Xbox’s strategy, especially regarding major releases within its service.
