With the release of the new Call of Duty just around the corner, Activision has given us a deeper look into its multiplayer mode. Players will be able to try out a large portion of these new features in the Beta, which kicks off on October 2nd across all platforms, with early access for those who pre-order the game and open access from October 5th.
The rollout is ambitious: 16 launch maps for 6v6 gameplay, two 20v20 scenarios, the return of classics like Raid, Hijacked, or Express, and the introduction of new mechanics like the Overclock system, Hybrid Specialties, and Wall Jumps. This is complemented by an arsenal of 30 debut weapons, a revamped streak system, and the return of classic prestige.
Everything the Black Ops 7 Multiplayer Has to Offer
Among the confirmed modes, the debut of Overload stands out, a 6v6 variant where teams must escort a device to the enemy base to score, in back-and-forth matches that promise maximum tension. Alongside it, classic options like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, Hardpoint, Gunfight, Kill Confirmed, or Control will be available, as well as alternative modes with special rules and no scoring streaks.
The game will also feature Skirmish 20v20, with large-scale maps where vehicles, wingsuits, and grappling hooks come into play to enhance mobility. In terms of progression, the title recovers the classic prestige system, accompanied by a revamped Gun Prestige system that allows resetting weapon levels in exchange for exclusive camos and accessories.
Customization will be more important than ever with the Overclock system, which powers up equipment, streaks, or field abilities mid-match, and with the new Hybrid Specialties, which grant additional bonuses when combining perks from different categories.
