Xbox Game Pass adds highly anticipated releases in the final stretch of August and watch out for Gamescom

The second half of August is packed with powerful releases on Xbox Game Pass, with proposals for all tastes: from adrenaline-filled co-op games to unique narrative experiences, passing through deep strategy and the return of one of the most iconic names in the Xbox catalog.

These titles will be available for Xbox consoles on different dates and, as always, at no extra cost for subscribers to the service. Let’s review what’s coming before the end of the month. Upcoming releases on Xbox Game Pass

• August 12 – Aliens: Fireteam Elite (Console, PC, and Cloud)
  Third-person cooperative shooter where facing relentless waves of xenomorphs with two other marines is a daily occurrence. With different classes, customizable weapons, and action-packed campaigns, it’s a faithful experience to the Alien universe, perfect for enjoying with friends and surviving the swarm.

• August 12 – Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced (Cloud, Xbox Series, and PC)
  Enhanced edition of the acclaimed title from Ninja Theory. Includes Performance mode on Xbox Series X, a new difficulty level called Dark Rot, and developer commentary that delves into its symbolism. On Series S, all the new features are maintained except for the higher frame rate option. A sensory and psychological journey powered to the maximum.

• August 14 – 9 Kings (Game Preview – PC with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass)
  Strategic proposal still in development that combines civilization building with real-time tactical combat. The player controls one of the nine warring kingdoms, each with unique abilities, to conquer procedurally generated scenarios.

• August 21 – Herdling (Cloud, Xbox Series, and PC)
  Exploration and herding game with a strong environmental component. You’ll guide magical creatures called calicornios through alpine environments filled with obstacles, solving puzzles and overcoming soft platforming in a detailed and melancholic artistic setting.

• August 26 – Gears of War: Reloaded (Cloud, Xbox Series, and PC) – Already available for installation
  The return of one of the most beloved Xbox sagas, with graphical improvements, polished gameplay, and all the DNA that has made Gears of War great.

And that’s not all: there are still games to be announced, probably during Gamescom 2025, which will take place on dates that coincide with new announcements, most likely on Wednesday, August 20. A perfect moment for Xbox to take advantage of the fair’s momentum and surprise with new titles that further strengthen the final stretch of the month in its star service.
