Xbox has wanted to respond to recent criticism about the value of its star subscription, and it has done so by leaving a clear message: Xbox Game Pass is experiencing its biggest investment year to date. This has been confirmed by Chris Charla, head of ID@Xbox, in statements collected by Eurogamer.
According to Charla, the service not only maintains its appeal for players, but also for studios that see Game Pass as an opportunity to reach new audiences. “Most partners who already had a game on Game Pass want to bring their future titles to the service“, the executive highlighted.
Xbox’s biggest bet on Xbox Game Pass
The Xbox executive revealed that, so far in 2025, agreements have been signed with over 150 partners, with the goal of continuing to expand a catalog that combines indie releases and big-budget productions. Additionally, he recalled that last year more than 50 teams signed their first agreement with Game Pass, which demonstrates that the platform continues to be a confidence engine for new projects.
Charla emphasized that Xbox “collaborates with hundreds of partners every year” and that the company is focused on maintaining the most diverse catalog possible. For the folks at Redmond, Game Pass is not just a showcase for day-one releases, but a space that helps lesser-known proposals find their audience.
With the arrival of anticipated titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong or Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Xbox’s bet on its subscription service remains in the spotlight, and everything indicates that this year will mark a record in investment and agreements.
