Xbox dominates the latest monthly report from Circana with an overwhelming presence in the top 5 best-selling games in the United States. According to data from May 2025, four of the top five positions belong to titles published by Microsoft, solidifying its strength in both consoles and PC.
The top spot goes to Elden Ring: Nightreign from Bandai Namco, but Microsoft takes the second, third, fourth, and fifth places with Doom: The Dark Ages, Forza Horizon 5, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, respectively. This is clear evidence that the multi-platform strategy is working and generating immediate benefits.
Xbox dominates the top 5 sales in the US thanks to its most powerful franchises
This momentum is accompanied by the boost of recent releases and highly anticipated remasters. The case of Doom: The Dark Ages, second on the list, confirms the interest in classic FPS reimagined under the Bethesda seal. Forza Horizon 5 continues to be a constant success, and Oblivion Remastered has been well-received by both veteran and new players.
The big surprise for many may be seeing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 under the Microsoft seal, but after the purchase of Activision, its impact is starting to reflect in commercial data. Four of the five best-selling games in the US in May have the Xbox seal. The competition has undoubtedly taken note.
