The Black Friday has come to a close on December 3rd, leaving behind two weeks of aggressive deals on the Xbox Store. But, far from closing the calendar, now is the time when many gamers set their sights on the last major event of the year: the Xbox Countdown Sale 2025, the campaign that traditionally closes out December with hundreds (or even thousands) of discounted games.

This promotion is one of the biggest events in the Xbox ecosystem. It usually combines massive discounts, recent AAA titles, cumulative discounts over several days, and very attractive opportunities for those looking to expand their game library before the holidays. Microsoft has not yet confirmed the exact date, but, based on history, we are already within the usual window when it is officially announced.
Xbox Countdown Sale 2025: Dates and Available Offers
If the brand maintains the structure of previous years, the promotion should start between December 12th and 19th. As of today, the most likely date seems to be Thursday, December 19th, although it’s not unreasonable to think that Xbox might bring the event forward and activate it in a matter of days, especially after a packed Black Friday.
These were the official dates in previous editions:
-
Countdown Sale 2024: December 13th – January 2nd
-
Countdown Sale 2023: December 15th – January 2nd
-
Countdown Sale 2022: December 16th – January 3rd
Following this pattern, the 2025 edition should once again include over 1000 discounts, with the usual presence of best-sellers, notable indies, and Xbox Game Studios titles that often receive an additional discount during these dates.
With the end of Black Friday, the community is now waiting for the next big move from Microsoft. If everything goes according to schedule, the countdown to the countdown (no pun intended) has just begun.
