During the last exercises, Xbox’s revenue growth in content and services had fallen short of the company’s established forecasts, but this fiscal year marks a change in trend. According to the annual report presented to shareholders, Xbox’s content and services revenue grew by almost 15%, exceeding the set goal of more than 14%.

This progress not only breaks a four-year negative streak, but also reinforces Microsoft’s confidence in its gaming division, which had been under internal scrutiny for not meeting expected results in areas such as Game Pass subscriptions or digital sales.
Xbox achieves its best financial performance since 2020
Since 2021, Xbox had been the only major Microsoft division that failed to meet the indicators linked to the variable remuneration of its top executives. Other branches, such as LinkedIn, Azure, or Surface, had exceeded their goals in different exercises, while the video game area chained failed objectives.

The reports confirm that, after years in which Game Pass results and digital content sales fell short of expectations, the new fiscal year has meant a clear recovery. The 15% growth translates into a significant improvement in Xbox’s overall performance, driven by increased activity in services, digital sales, and new multi-platform expansion strategies.
