Although Cyberpunk 2 has already been officially confirmed as one of CD Projekt RED’s major projects, its release remains a complete mystery. There’s no trailer, no approximate window, and for now, no signs that development is nearing an advanced phase. Still, some analysts have already dared to put dates on the table… and they’re not exactly optimistic.
One of the latest to do so is Mateusz Chrzanowski, an analyst at Noble Securities, who shared his predictions through the Polish economic portal Strefa Inwestorów. According to his analysis, the sequel to the futuristic RPG still has a long way to go, and its market arrival would occur much later than many players expect.
Predictions point to Cyberpunk 2 no earlier than 2030
According to Chrzanowski, the main reason for the long development is CD Projekt RED’s strategy following the events surrounding Cyberpunk 2077. The Polish studio doesn’t want to repeat mistakes and is betting on a much longer production cycle, with special attention to the game’s technical state from day one. Adding to this is another key factor: the project would include an online or multiplayer component, about which little is known, which further complicates the timelines.
- The analyst estimates that development costs have already increased by around 1.5 billion zlotys, which, at the current exchange rate, is approximately 350 million euros, a figure that reflects the enormous ambition of the project. With this scenario, the prediction places the release of Cyberpunk 2 in the fourth quarter of 2030, provided there are no additional delays.
If these predictions come true, the game would arrive after The Witcher 4 and already in the midst of a new generation of Sony and Microsoft consoles. For now, CD Projekt RED has neither confirmed nor denied these dates, but everything suggests that the return to Night City will be a long and very calculated wait.
