Yes, we can finally tell you that we’ve had the chance to play Resident Evil Requiem for three hours last week. The folks at Plaion invited us to their offices to try out the game in more depth, following our initial hands-on experience before Gamescom.
The version we played can be considered final, it’s the version that’s going to be released on February 27th, and although it may seem early, after playing it, (about three hours with both Grace and Leon) we’re looking at a serious game of the year candidate, and we’re not even in February yet. This time, we’ve decided to share a video with you, where you can see the game in action and we share our impressions, which we hope you’ll enjoy.
Final Impressions of Resident Evil Requiem Before Its Release
The video is spoiler-free, we haven’t commented on anything plot-related beyond the obvious, so you can watch it without worrying. It’s one of the best-crafted Resident Evil games, with Leon and Grace’s stories unfolding simultaneously, which is a great success, as it allows for a seamless transition between the two protagonists, with the story at its core, you’ll naturally switch between characters.
It’s one of the goriest games in the series, with a brutal atmosphere, plenty of blood, and the most brutal Leon to date, unlike Grace, whose growth we’ll see throughout the game. As I said, we don’t want to give away any spoilers, so enjoy the video and our impressions.
