I’ve been eager to talk about Pragmata, the upcoming game from Capcom, which after a long development period, I can tell you from firsthand experience is a game that surprises from the very first minutes. I was able to try out an extensive demo a few weeks ago, and my impressions couldn’t be better. Capcom once again delivers a new IP with all the ingredients to become one of the most revealing games of 2026.

In what I was able to play, we’ll be taking control of Hugh and the android Diana, (the girl you’ve seen in all the videos) and with these two characters, the game mechanics are developed. Mechanics that I’ll tell you in advance, once you try them, you won’t want to stop playing, they’re as intuitive as they are fun. The idea in combat is to use hacking to defeat enemies, that’s where Diana comes in, while we’re shooting, we’ll be able to use her abilities to attack the enemies’ weak points.

With combinations of buttons in real-time and like a small puzzle, we’ll be able to choose the ability we use against them, to then be able to attack with firearms at the same time. It’s a kind of perfect dance, in which after a few minutes, we’ll be the perfect gear of both.

First Impressions of Pragmata

In the following video, you can see my gameplay with the game, as well as the enemies we’ll face. If you like mechs and you liked Vanquish, I’m almost sure you’ll find plenty of reasons not to miss Pragmata.

Additionally, the game’s development takes us to a station on the moon, where we’ll have to escape, and to do so, in addition to facing an AI that doesn’t want to let us leave, we’ll have dozens of enemies and bosses to fight and make use of the abilities I mentioned. All of this, with a great graphical section, once again resolved by Capcom’s RE Engine, which seems to have no end, to this day, it’s one of the most versatile graphics engines that exist and it demonstrates it again in Pragmata.

We still have to wait for its release, in the game’s test, Capcom didn’t give away anything, everything is left to wait for them to give a date, but it will arrive in 2026. If I had to rate what I’ve tried, this game is very advanced in its development and I don’t think they have much more to add. Although considering that February 2026 has the release of Resident Evil Requiem, we might have to wait a few more months for the arrival of Pragmata, I hope that before the end of the year, Capcom gives it a release date.
