The highly anticipated sequel to the popular Path of Exile is preparing for its grand arrival with an unexpected gesture towards the community. During the last weekend of August, anyone can try for free everything the second installment has to offer, without needing to pay and with access to the new update The Third Edict.
In Generación Xbox we’ve been reviewing the announcements and, once again, we’re faced with a different surprise: this time, a promotion that will allow thousands of players to jump into combat without entry barriers, whether on PC or consoles.
Path of Exile 2 free on all platforms for a limited time
The event will start on August 29th at 10:00 PM (Spanish time) / 3:00 PM (Mexico City time) and will run until September 1st at the same time. During this period, it will be possible to play Path of Exile 2 on PC (official client, Steam, or Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with all current content available.
Among the highlights of this promotion:
-
Full access to the The Third Edict update.
-
No progression limits: all progress is saved to the account.
-
No PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core required to play on consoles.
-
At the end of the promotion, progress will remain linked to the account, waiting for the full launch (which will be free) or the purchase of an early access package.
Grinding Gear Games clarifies that there will be no pre-load for this free version, so you’ll have to wait for the start of the event to download the game.
In short, this is a unique opportunity to experience firsthand how one of the most influential ARPGs of the last few years evolves, with a future that looks set to be very present on both PC and Xbox Series.
