SEGA wants to put its upcoming racing title to the test and will do so with an open beta on all platforms. At the end of this month, all players will be able to hit the tracks at no cost to check out how the multiplayer works and participate in very special temporary events.

Access will be free and will be available on both consoles and PC, offering a first look at the proposal that seeks to renew the blue hedgehog’s speed saga. Additionally, it will include exclusive content that can only be enjoyed during those days.

Sonic Racing Crossworld: free open network test on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC

• The open network test for Sonic Racing Crossworld will begin on August 29, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. and will end on September 2 at 6:00 a.m. (Spanish mainland time). In Mexico, the times will be from August 28 at 10:00 p.m. to September 1 at 10:00 p.m.. It can be participated in on Xbox Series, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

During these days, players will have access to modes such as Grand Prix, Time Trial, global online matches, and the Joker Festival, which will take place between August 31 and September 1. This event will allow playing with Joker as a guest driver, along with his iconic machine Arsène Wing, although only during that weekend. Later on, both the character and his vehicle will be added to the full game through a free update.

How to access the free test

Accessing the test is very simple. Here are the steps:

1. Download the test version starting August 26 (the exact date may vary depending on the platform). You can request access from here, for any platform

   • Xbox Store

   • PlayStation 5

   • Nintendo Switch

   • Steam

   • Epic Games Store

2. Once available on August 29, start the game from your library.

3. Make sure you are connected to the Internet to enjoy online modes.

4. Play during the active period and unlock the participation bonus that will be linked to your account.

With this, anyone can join the open test and be part of the first to experience what Sonic Racing Crossworld will offer at launch.

Additionally, participants will receive an exclusive bonus: two cosmetic stickers and the title “Open Network Test Racer”, which they can claim in the final version of the game using the same account they used to access the beta. It’s worth noting that progress and saved data will not be transferred to the full game.
