A new hint detected by Xbox users has revived rumors about the arrival of Baldur’s Gate 3 to the Xbox Play Anywhere program, which would allow players to enjoy the game on both console and PC with a single digital purchase. The information briefly appeared on the Xbox Store on some consoles, where the “Play Anywhere” badge was displayed next to the title of Larian Studios.
Although there is no official confirmation from Microsoft or the studio itself, the community has begun to speculate about a possible upcoming update. The move would make a lot of sense after the game’s full release on Xbox Series and its consolidation as one of the most award-winning RPGs of the last few years.
What would Baldur’s Gate 3 as a Play Anywhere game mean
If the information is true, players could freely switch between Xbox and PC while keeping their progress, achievements, and cloud saves without any additional cost. This is the same feature that titles like Forza Horizon 5 or Grounded already have, designed for those who play on both ecosystems within the same Xbox profile.
On social media, several users shared screenshots where the “Play Anywhere” icon can be seen on the game’s page, although the badge disappeared hours later. This has led to speculation that it was an update published by mistake or a test prior to its official announcement.
If confirmed, Baldur’s Gate 3 would join the list of multi-platform titles that strengthen the connection between console and PC within the Xbox ecosystem. For now, neither Microsoft nor Larian Studios have made any comments, but everything suggests that there could be news very soon.
