Digital Extremes has finally confirmed it: Warframe will receive The Old Peace on December 10th, 2025, a free update that aims to rewrite part of the game’s universe’s past and expand it with new systems, more playable content, and significant visual improvements.
The release will be simultaneous on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, and will also mark the beginning of testing on Android, a platform where the full experience was not yet available.
The Old Peace revamps Warframe with new story, systems, and Warframes
The expansion introduces a story set in a key conflict from the past, accompanied by a thorough overhaul of the Focus Schools system. Digital Extremes also adds Uriel, a demonically-themed Warframe that promises new combat possibilities, along with Protoframes, a Warframe variant that will even allow for stronger bonds between characters.
The content also arrives with a notable visual boost: Operators receive a complete redesign, with updated models and more customization options, modernizing their presence in both cinematics and gameplay.
The studio makes it clear that this is just the beginning. The December update will be the first part of The Old Peace, while the expansion focused on Tau will arrive in 2026 as one of the largest content updates Digital Extremes has prepared to date.
A very intense end of the year for Warframe and an expansion that has been long-awaited on Xbox. Are you ready to return?
