Although we already know that GTA 6 will be released in May 2026, there are still many uncertainties surrounding the most anticipated game of the last few years. One of the big questions is its price, especially in a context where standard editions have already reached €80 in many new-generation releases.
Taking advantage of a recent interview, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, was asked directly about how much Grand Theft Auto VI will cost. And although he didn’t give an exact figure, he did offer a response that marks the company’s stance on this sensitive issue. We had already advanced that this Thursday we would have some detail about GTA 6 and this is what we have learned.
Take-Two’s CEO defends the “fair price” and points to Rockstar
According to Zelnick, “that announcement will be made by Rockstar in due time”, making it clear that the developers will make the final decision. Nevertheless, he wanted to highlight that the company’s approach is to offer more value than what is charged, something they have also applied in previous titles.
He also recalled that the current model in the industry is based on premium prices, often accompanied by special editions, but what matters is that the player feels they have paid a fair price for what they receive. “Our goal is always to ensure that the experience is excellent, not just for what the game contains, but also for how the consumer perceives it”, Zelnick explained.
For now, there is no official confirmed price, but everything suggests that GTA 6 will maintain a “premium” standard edition and will offer other more complete versions with additional content. The question now is whether Rockstar will dare to go beyond €80, or if they will keep that figure as a reference for the most ambitious release in their history.
