Ubisoft has once again stirred up the community with a brief but very clear message on social media. The official Far Cry account has posted a teaser that directly points to a 60 FPS patch for several beloved games in the series, something that has been rumored for a while and now seems closer than ever to being confirmed.
Although the company hasn’t provided concrete details, the hints coincide with previous leaks and comments that point to Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Far Cry Primal as the titles that would receive this improvement. In the case of Far Cry 3, the patch had been rumored for months, but now everything indicates that the performance boost would arrive accompanied by more games.
Far Cry is preparing for a technical leap on current consoles
If confirmed, this patch would allow for 60 frames per second on next-generation consoles, something especially important in first-person shooters. The difference from the current 30 FPS would be noticeable, improving fluidity, controller response, and the overall feeling of exploring these worlds.
The move fits with Ubisoft’s recent strategy of updating titles from past generations without the need for complete re-releases. On Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, many games still work through backward compatibility without taking full advantage of the hardware, so this type of update is very welcome.
For now, no dates, platforms, or whether it will affect all available versions have been confirmed (although we assume it will), but the tone of the teaser suggests that the full announcement is imminent. Everything points to Ubisoft wanting to bring back some of the most memorable Far Cry games, this time with performance that meets current standards.
