Microsoft is further expanding the possibilities of cloud gaming for those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Starting today, Xbox Insider program members in the PC Gaming Preview channel can begin streaming their own games from the Xbox app for PC, even if they’re not part of the Game Pass catalog.
This is another step in the strategy of flexible access to the digital library, and it comes after the previous launch of this option on Xbox consoles, web browsers, TVs, and mobile devices. Now, PC gamers can also take advantage of it directly from the official Xbox app.
You can now stream your own games on PC with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
With this new feature, players don’t need to install the game on their computer to enjoy it. Simply go to the cloud gaming section within the Xbox app for PC, select a compatible title you already own, and start playing it via streaming. This function is exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who are enrolled in the Xbox Insider program.
The advantage isn’t limited to just saving space or installation time: it also allows playing console-exclusive titles directly from the PC app, something that was previously not possible. The initial catalog includes over 250 compatible games, and Microsoft has already announced that it will be expanded with more titles in the future, including games with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
