Ubisoft Massive, the team behind The Division and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, has announced an internal restructuring aimed at “aligning resources and strengthening the long-term roadmap”. The company has launched a voluntary professional transition program, which will offer financial and career assistance to employees who choose to leave the studio, confirming an adjustment within its structure.
The statement, released by Massive itself, explains that these changes aim to maintain focus on the The Division franchise and the technologies that support it, such as the Snowdrop engine and the Ubisoft Connect platform. Despite the adjustments, the studio insists that its commitment to players “remains total”.
Massive maintains its commitment to the The Division saga
Massive has made it clear that it will continue working on current projects, including The Division 2, The Division 2: Survivors, The Division Resurgence, and the anticipated The Division 3. The studio assures that all of these projects are moving forward with “strength, ambition, and focus”, reaffirming its central role within the Ubisoft universe.
We have reorganized our teams and resources to strengthen our roadmap, ensuring our continued focus on the The Division saga and the technologies that drive our games.
This reorganization comes in a context where several Ubisoft divisions have adjusted their teams over the past year, a move that appears to aim to optimize resources in the face of increasing costs and market changes. Nevertheless, Massive promises that its creative vision remains intact and that it will soon share more news about the future of the The Division saga.
