After months of almost complete silence, the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is showing signs of life again… although not in the usual way. In recent hours, a new legal movement has been detected that has not gone unnoticed by the community.
Ubisoft has recently registered the domain princeofpersiathesandsoftime.us, and has done so directly from its headquarters in Carentoir, France, in the name of Marc Muraccini, vice president and head of brands and intellectual property of the company. This detail is especially relevant, as it is not a delegated registration, but rather managed from Ubisoft’s own legal department.
Why this registration is important
The domain was updated on December 15, 2025, just five days after a similar update was made to the .com domain of the game. In large publishers like Ubisoft, this type of movement usually occurs when a project enters a key phase, whether for communication, brand protection, or preparation of official announcements.
The fact that the legal and IP team is directly managing these domains is often interpreted as a clear sign that the project has internal priority and that something is on the way. It’s not an official confirmation, but it’s a very solid indication.
Announcement or return of the remake?
- To date, Ubisoft has not shared new public information about the status of the remake, but this type of action often precedes important revelations, such as a new trailer, a development update, or even a revised release window.
After several restarts and studio changes, the project needs to re-present itself with force, and everything points to 2026 being the year in which The Sands of Time Remake finally reappears on the calendar.
For now, it’s a matter of waiting… but Ubisoft has already started moving pieces.
