The situation of Ubisoft is once again causing concern after the release of a new report pointing to more serious difficulties than initially thought. Over the past few months, there had been talk of internal problems, but now the focus is directly on some of its most important projects.
For some time now, we’ve been closely following everything related to the company, and the truth is that this new scenario changes the perception quite a bit. It’s no longer just about adjustments to secondary teams, but about decisions that could directly impact key games in the future catalog.
Several Ubisoft projects would be affected, according to Insider Gaming’s report
- The information comes from Insider Gaming, through the well-known insider Tom Henderson, who points out that the company would be going through economic problems that are already impacting the development of several titles.
One of the most notable cases would be the new Ghost Recon, internally known as “OVR”, which would be considered one of the most important projects for the next fiscal year. However, the game would have suffered content cuts to reduce costs, in addition to controversial internal decisions related to former Red Storm Entertainment employees.
Other projects like the Splinter Cell Remake or a possible revised version of Watch Dogs Legion would also have had difficulties during development. In both cases, there are talks of management problems and team adjustments, which fits the general context described in the report.
For now, it’s essential to note that this is unconfirmed information. However, if these details turn out to be true, we would be facing a delicate moment for Ubisoft, with direct implications for some of the most anticipated games in the coming years.
