This PS4 emulator for PC now runs God of War 3 Remastered and other major Sony games

Although achieving stable results is not always easy, the emulation of modern consoles on PC continues to make steady progress. One of the most notable cases is that of shadPS4, an emulator that, with each new version, improves the compatibility and performance of demanding games from the previous generation.

In its latest version, it is already capable of launching several heavyweight titles such as God of War 3 Remastered, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and inFAMOUS Second Son. Some of them still don’t run smoothly, but progress is noticeable. Other games like Driveclub, The Last Guardian, Knack, and even Bloodborne have also been tested, with the latter reaching 60 FPS in 4K resolution.

The YouTube channel John GodGames Emus has shared an extensive demonstration of this emulator, showing scenes from inFAMOUS Second Son and Killzone: Shadow Fall, although they still run with a low frame rate. On the other hand, God of War 3 Remastered can reach between 50 and 60 FPS, despite some noticeable visual errors.

One of the most fluid titles in the comparison is Bloodborne, which runs at 60 FPS in 4K. The video confirms that it is now possible to enjoy the game in conditions far superior to those of the original console. Additionally, shadPS4 allows for the application of mods to improve graphics, adjust the camera, or recover deleted content.

• The tests were performed on a system with an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, 64 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 4070 graphics card. Although there are still unexpected bottlenecks in certain titles, the advances of shadPS4 solidify it as the most advanced PS4 emulator currently available for PC.
