The June update for Xbox didn’t just bring new features to the console: PC players have also received a long-awaited improvement. The Xbox app for Windows now includes a unified library, which allows you to manage all your games more clearly and efficiently, whether they belong to Game Pass or were purchased directly from the Microsoft Store.
This new feature significantly improves navigation and makes it easier to keep your entire collection under control, with new filters and functions to save time when searching or installing titles.
How the new unified Xbox library works on PC
Until now, the Xbox app on Windows displayed installed games and a separate tab for Game Pass. This could be confusing, especially if you mixed your own titles with subscription games or used multiple accounts. With the new library, all of this is unified in a single, more intuitive space.
The new library view is divided into three main sections:
-
All your games: displays all titles available on your account, including those purchased from the Microsoft Store and those included with Game Pass.
-
Installed: direct access to what you already have on your hard drive, ready to play or manage.
-
Available to install: games that you can install on your current device, whether they’re yours or available on Game Pass.
New filters and organization improvements
In addition to this, there are advanced filters by genre, installation status, access type (Game Pass, purchase, gift…), and options to view additional details, such as required space, last played or availability on Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Furthermore, this integrated library allows you to manage all updates from a single panel, view available DLC for each game, and check your achievement progress directly from the game’s page.
Performance improvements in the app
Another key advantage is that the overall performance of the app has been improved, resulting in faster loading times, smoother navigation, and more intelligent search. It’s now easier to locate any game in your collection, regardless of its origin.
The app’s resource consumption has also been optimized, benefiting both high-end and more modest laptops. The goal is to achieve a consistent and comfortable experience in all environments.
Benefits for PC Game Pass users
- For PC Game Pass users, this also means a more direct way to discover new titles without having to jump between sections. Everything is visible from the same point, with updated information and compatibility with services like EA Play or Ubisoft+ if they’re linked.
You can even mark favorites, create custom follow lists, or check if a game is about to leave the service, all from the library.
Future improvements already confirmed by Xbox
- This improvement will soon be complemented by new social features and more visual customization options, as confirmed by Microsoft, as part of the plan to continue optimizing the gaming experience on Windows, similar to what they already offer on console.
Additionally, a better integration with the new Copilot for Gaming function on PC is expected, so that the library can work together with this virtual assistant to offer contextual help about your titles, progress, or recommended DLC.
How to enable this feature on your PC
- If you use the Xbox app on Windows, you can already access this feature by downloading the latest version from the Microsoft Store. No additional steps are required: the new library view appears automatically after updating.
For those who don’t see it yet, simply enable the “use preview features” option from the app settings. In the coming days, this unified library will be rolled out to all Xbox users on PC.
