After Microsoft finally announced the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in the first half of August, and with the games we already knew about, we can take a closer look at what the month has in store for users of the service.

With what we have confirmed, we’re still waiting to see what Microsoft has in store for Gamescom. The event dates coincide with the announcement of new games for Xbox Game Pass, so it’s possible that new games will be revealed from the German fair. Assassin’s Creed Mirage (August 7 – Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Cloud)

The latest installment in the Ubisoft saga takes a more classic approach, with stealth, parkour, and assassination mechanics that recall the franchise’s origins. Set in 9th-century Baghdad, Mirage puts the player in the shoes of Basim, in a more contained but intense adventure, with a shorter duration and a strong narrative focus.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite (August 12 – Console, PC, and cloud for all subscriptions)

This cooperative third-person shooter pits you against relentless waves of xenomorphs alongside two other marines. With different classes, customizable weapons, and action-packed campaigns, the title offers a faithful experience in the Alien universe, ideal for playing with friends and surviving the swarm.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced (August 12 – Cloud, Xbox Series, and PC)

This enhanced edition of the acclaimed Ninja Theory game includes a Performance Mode on Xbox Series X, a new difficulty level called Dark Rot, and developer commentary that delves into the game’s symbolism. On Xbox Series S, all the new features are retained, except for the higher frame rate option. A sensory and psychological journey that’s even more powerful with these improvements.

9 Kings (Game Preview) (August 14 – PC with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass)

A game of exploration and herding with a strong environmental focus. In Herdling, you’ll guide a group of magical creatures called calicornios through alpine environments filled with natural obstacles. The game combines puzzles and soft platforming with a detailed and melancholic artistic style, ideal for those seeking contemplative experiences.

Gears of War: Reloaded (August 26 – Cloud, Xbox Series, and PC) – Now available for pre-install

The saga returns with a new installment that reimagines its roots with a more tactical and visceral approach.
